- The personality and philosophy of William Shakespeare against the background of the town life and countryside of his day: filmed partly in Warwickshire and London, the programme examines the sights and sounds of town life in Tudor, England out of which Shakespeare fashioned his universal characters and dramas. It also shows the natural setting of the countryside which inspired much of his poetic output.
