Synopsis
Sixth in a series of ten educational radio programmes in which various aspects of Shakespeare’s life and work are discussed by scholars and theatre practitioners with illustrative excerpts from his plays and poems. In this episode, Margaret Leighton and Tony Britton perform speeches and scenes from Love’s Labour’s Lost, The Merchant of Venice and As You Like It. Felix Felton speaks an excerpt of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Richard David talks about the nature of Shakespeare’s comedies.
