Synopsis
Radio broadcast. First of six talks by literary critic William Empson in which he discusses some of the problems of character and action raised by Shakespearean characters, such as Macbeth, Hamlet and Falstaff. In this episode Empson questions John Dover Wilson’s supposition that several scenes of Macbeth have been lost.
