Synopsis
Radio broadcast. As part of the general conversation programme, host Libby Purves interviews Darren Raymond, an ex-offender whose life was turned around by taking up acting with the London Shakespeare Workout (LSW) theatre group. Raymond talks about his encounter with Shakespeare in Brixton prison, about playing Othello in LSW’s 2005 production of ‘Blacking Iago’ and his work as Artistic Director of Intermission Actors, a Christian theatre company that also runs workshops for young people at risk of offending. Other guests are Johnny Kingdom, Richard Beard, Drusilla Marland and Daphne Todd.
