- Radio talk by George Watson, Assistant lecturer in English at Cambridge University, in reply to L. C. Knights’ book Some Shakespearean Themes (1960). According to the programme notes, ‘Watson criticises the three kinds of Shakespearean analysis of the past sixty years (of character, of theatrical convention, and of imagery) and suggests that a fourth approach is now available’ (Radio Times, 5 August 1960, p. 23).
