Romeo and Juliet

Synopsis
Excerpts from the ballet choreographed by Oscar Araiz and danced by the Joffrey Ballet. Videotaped in studio rehearsal with piano and tape accompaniment at City Center, New York City. The catalogue record at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division notes: ‘The three acts are fragmented and performed out of sequence, and individual characters or the ensemble are sometimes missing. Some of the ensemble choreography has been broken down, so that small groups or individuals are recorded separately in parts intended to be danced simultaneously. This recording lacks Act I, scene iii, Balcony scene; Act II, scene i, Lady Capulet’s lament; most of Act III, scene ii, The crypt, and Romeo defeated; and the epilogue.
