Synopsis
Educational video. Alan Dilnot and Susan Tweg explore complexities of Shakespeare’s play aided by student actors’ dramatisations. Students learn that Shakespeare can be interpreted in different ways by directors and actors. The video studies the motivations of Othello and the play’s supporting characters. Students learn about the relationship between Iago, Othello, and Desdemona, different ways in which Iago’s and Othello’s characters can be interpreted, and the nature of Othello’s tragedy.
