Alternative title
Commissar Shakespeare
Synopsis
Turkish feature film directed by Sinan Cetin. When he learns that his only daughter Su has Leukaemia, police officer Cemil (Kadir Inanir) sets up a theatre in his police station in the hope of winning a TV competition to save his dying daughter. Rehearsals of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs commence with the current occupants - a prostitute, glue-sniffer, mobster and political prisoner - and some street children from the theatre troupe - something that triggers a series of tragicomic events. The Shakespearean connection is unknown beyond the title (11/2008).
