- Synopsis
- Documentary. Actors who have played Hamlet, or appeared in productions of the play, speak about the role they have inhabited. Contributors include Simon Russell Beale, Philip Franks, Anton Lesser, Adrian Lester, Michael Maloney, Derek Jacobi, Diana Quick, Samuel West and Susannah York. Critic Sheridan Morley and Shakespeare scholar Russell Jackson also commentate on the play. There are performance excerpts and a comic look at ‘Hamlet, the Musical’; it also features a version of the ‘to be or not to be’ soliloquy in which all the Hamlets perform. Presented by Stephen Becket.
