Synopsis
Documentary for schools (Key Stage 4) exploring our ability to manipulate and change identity, and our love of public confession. This third episode looks at the human fascination with masks, disguises and transformation through the work of several writers including Shakespeare. The programmes looks at disguise in Twelfth Night, Hamlet’s ‘antic disposition’ and the contrast between appearance and reality, and the character of Shylock who is judged mainly by his outward appearance.
