Reviews
In a interview for The Guardian Akala comments: "In my song Shakespeare I’m trying to say that, on the face of it, nothing seems more different from Shakespeare than a working-class black lad from London who raps about drugs and guns. If you think about Shakespeare’s tragedies, most of them are quite gruesome ... like the equivalent of modern hip-hop. In the song I say that its ' Shakespeare with a nigga twist’" (Melissa Viney, ‘People always ask me how do you come up with your lyrics’, The Guardian, 8 July 2006)
