Notes
The DVD includes: a 27 minute documentary on the making of the film, a 12 minute section entitled ‘Growing Up With Violence’ which tells the story from a prisoner’s point of view, of the impact of growing up during ‘The Troubles’ in Northern Ireland, and a 5 minute introduction to the film by the Director General of the Northern Ireland prison service.
History
The film was screened at the Belfast Film Festival 15-30 April 2010 and at the 38th Conference of the Shakespeare Association of America in Chicago 1-3 April 2010.
Awards
MICKEY B won the Roger Graef award for Outstanding Achievement in Film at the national Arthur Koestler awards. The award was received in London by Director Tom Magill and ex long-term prisoner, Sam McClean who played Duncan.
