Romeo and Juliet

Synopsis
Performing arts series broadcasting ballets, operas and concerts originally produced for French television. In the opening segment Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is played by the orchestra of the French national broadcasting company (ORTF) conducted by Edward Lindenberg. The episode concludes with Monteverdi’s ballet ‘The Combat of Tancrede and Clorinde’. Hosted by Robert Merrill.
