Synopsis
Live radio transmission presented from London’s Royal Albert Hall by Andrew McGregor. Sir Simon Rattle and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment evoke two iconic pair of lovers, Berlioz’s dramatic symphony "Romeo et Juliette" (Love scene) and Wagner’s "Tristan and Isolde" (Act 2), a re-working of a medieval Celtic legend which was inspired by Berlioz’s music.
