Synopsis
Recording of Senator Sam Ervin (Democrat) at the Senate Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities, aka Senate Watergate Committee. In a debate with Herbert L. Porter (Nixon’s campaign aide) Ervin evokes Shakespeare’s Henry VIII - it was a wise man named William Shakespeare who wrote a play called Henry VIII, and in that he has one of his characters Cardinal Wolsey say "Had I but served my God with half the zeal/ I served my king he would not in mine old age/ left me naked to mine enemies".
