Synopsis
Series on Africa written and presented by Professor Ali A. Mazrui. Episode 6 looks at the history of governance in Africa. Includes an extract (5 mins) in which an actor delivers Mark Antony’s funeral oration speech in Swahili. The commentary notes the ironic applicability of Shakespeare’s play to the turbulent events of military coups in Africa.
