- A new production of Macbeth live from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in the 1865 revised version directed by Phyllida Lloyd. Anthony Michaels-Moore and Maria Guleghina sing the leading roles. The Royal Opera House Chorus and Orchestra is conducted by Simone Young and the broadcast presented by Christopher Cook.

- During the interval (20:20-20:50) ‘Curtain Up’ was presented. Each year the Royal Opera House invites members of the public to stage an operatic scene from scratch in one weekend. Piers Burton-Page joins the Chorus for ‘Curtain Up’ (the banqueting scene from Macbeth) to find out how it’s done.
