Synopsis
First in a series of five radio programmes presented by Donal Macleod exploring the life and work of French composer Paul Dukas (1865-1935).
This episode features an early Overture after Shakespeare, ‘Le roi Lear’ (1883), a student work which Dukas never heard performed in his lifetime.
Performed by the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, with Fabrice Bollon as conductor.
