Give Us This Night
- Synopsis
- Musical feature. When the voice of tenor Forcellini breaks down and his co-star Maria refuses to work with him, opera maestro Marcello Bonetti turns to Antonio Belizza, a fisherman, to replace him in his new production of Romeo and Juliet. The film centres around the staging of the production. The balcony scene, performed as opera, is central to the plot as it provides the narrative structure through which Antonio and Maria express their love.
