Synopsis
Adventure comedy. Bill Shakespeare dreams of becoming a playwright but his wife Anne Hathaway wants him to provide for his brood. Unpeturbed, Bill packs his knapsack and heads to the capital, where he befriends Christopher Marlowe. The two men join forces on a play, which they intend to sell to The Earl Of Croydon, who has promised a comical entertainment for Queen Elizabeth I as the centrepiece of a summit meeting with King Philip II of Spain.
