Antony Sher and Greg Doran in Conversation with Sue Macgregor

Synopsis
Sue MacGregor talks to Antony Sher and Greg Doran about their stage work together and their shared passion for Shakespeare. Over the last two decades the actor and director have collaborated on ten shows including Macbeth, Henry IV pts 1 and 2 and Death of a Salesman. In 2016 Doran will direct Sher in King Lear for the Royal Shakespeare Company of which Doran is the Artistic Director. There are brief clips from Titus Andronicus, The Winter’s Tale, Macbeth, Othello and Henry IV. Part I, all of which Doran directed. The conversation(very briefly) touches on the vocal demands of Shakespeare, what constitutes great acting, live relays to cinemas, the character of Iago and ‘colour consciousness’ in casting.
