Drama on 3: Love is Not New in This Country

Synopsis
A radio drama based on the true story of the creation of a Afghan theatre company by the German-Syrian actress and director, Corinne Jaber. It’s 2005 and the Taliban have been defeated in Afghanistan. Corinne works with the actors to perform Shakespeare’s "Love’s Labour’s Lost" in Dari. The actors are empowered by the freedom to be themselves within the company. However, the actresses have to contend with death threats from the Taliban.

"Love is not New in This Country" is based on the book, "A Night in the Emperor’s Garden" by Stephen Landrigan and Qais Akbar Omar.
