Synopsis
Recording of a production of Ambroise Thomas’ 1868 opera in five acts starring Stéphane Degout in the title role and Sabine Devieilhe as Ophelia. Sung in French, it features the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées and the Choeur Les Eléments. Directed for the Opéra Comique in Paris by Cyril Teste, realised for the screen by Francois Roussillon. This production uses the original ending, in while Hamlet lives after killing Claudius and is hailed as the new king.
