Eco-Shakespeare

Synopsis
Recording of presentations from five venues - Shakespeare in Paradise (Bahamas), The Handlebards (UK), Shakespeare in Yosemite (California, USA), The Willow Globe (Wales), and Butterfly Theatre (UK) - that promote sustainable and eco-friendly approaches to live theatre productions of Shakespeare’s plays. The presentations provides details on various open-air productions, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest and Macbeth. The pre-recorded presentations were originally delivered at the ‘Globe 4 Globe: Shakespeare and Climate Emergency’ online conference, co-hosted by Shakespeare’s Globe, London, and the University of California, Merced, held on 23-24 April 2021.
