Synopsis
Recording of a virtual roundtable discussion on editing William Shakespeare’s poetry, chaired by Dr Lucy Munro (King’s College London). Issues covered included assorted technical editorial problems, the glossing of the sonnets, the critical framework, the history of reception and the relationship between editing and teaching. The main speakers each speak individually for a few minutes before the discussion begins. Participants include: Colin Burrow (University of Oxford), Jane Kingsley-Smith (University of Roehampton), Lynne Magnusson (University of Toronto), Cathy Shrank (University of Sheffield), Professor Emma Smith (University of Oxford).
