- Ballet based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, choreographed and directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot to various pieces composed by Shostakovich. Directed for the screen by Louise Narboni. Before the curtain rises, the production is introduced by a provocative new character known as The Housekeeper - she struts on stage wearing high heels, which she then exchanges for pointe shoes while the orchestra tunes its instruments. Then the show proper begins. She later partners with Gremio.
