The West End factor

Title
The West End factor
Date
1985
Description
For years young people from all over the country have flocked to London in search of adventure, excitement and the famed ‘bright lights’. Many succeed, but this report deals with those teenagers who arrive on London’s streets and stay there. For them it’s all too often a story of squalor, lost hope and sexual abuse. In 1984, 2,864 under 17s were reported missing and believed to be in London. This year runaways under 17 are already up over 20%.
