MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ascot - Gold Cup. DESCRIPTION: The absence of the King and Queen and the cold weather subdued Gold Cup Day at Ascot. The race is won by ‘Flyon’ making a treble for his jockey E Smith who had previously won the 2,000 guineas and the Derby. SHOTLIST: The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duchess of Kent watch E Smith ride "Flyon" to a five length victory from "Scottish Union". Usual Fashion shots.
