Summary
Commandos with British and Canadian infantry land on the island of Walcheren. Through the streets of Flushing where snipers still offer resistance, although part of the town and most of the island, is flooded. Royal Marine Commandos fighting for the town of Westkapelle suffer terrible losses as their landing craft go in. Losses were as high as 20 out of every 25 craft, but at last they succeed and Westkapelle is taken.
