Summary
Middleburg, the chief town of Walcheren, falls to the allies and immediately engineers start to comb the ground for mines. The streets are flooded by water from the dykes we broke open but this doesn’t deter the people from giving the troops a warm welcome, Long line of prisoners march through streets, among them General Daser, Commander of the German 70th Division.
