- British and Russian troops link-up, near Weismar. [Marked "NS"] 1. German Generals surrender to Montgomery on Luneberg Heath. Seated at table, Montgomery signs and then calls on General-Admiral von Friedeberg, General Kienzl, Rear Admiral Wagner, Colonel Pollack and Major Frieder to sign. [Marked "NS"] Morse message is tapped out which is the signal for the Cease Fire. [Marked "NS"] British troops cheer the news. 2. Monty leaves his caravan wearing KD and then speaks on Victory. [Everything on the issue sheet until this point is grouped together as "Movietone, Pathe (Gordon)"] 3. Crowds in various parts of London on V-E Day. Crowds filing past Cenotaph.
