Summary
It was the same in Copenhagen, with huge crowds mobbing British troops. Danish resistance workers round up Quislings. British ships in Copenhagen harbour, among them is HMS Birmingham which was the first to enter the harbour. King Christian of Denmark, freed from a Palace prison drives to the first opening of the Danish parliament for five years. Two German cruisers the "Prinz Eugen" and "Nuremberg" which were found undamaged in Copenhagen. Field Marshal Montgomery gets a tumultuous welcome on his entry into Copenhagen, along a six-mile route.
