Summary
On July 1st the fourth atomic bomb was dropped on Bikini Atoll. Extensive camera coverage shows every phase of this appointment with the unknown, the shape of wars to come is moulded in the column of radio-active vapour rising five miles high - nuclear fission outdates every other device for waging war. We visualise the prospect of V2 rockets with atomic warheads (commentary by Captain Raymond Blackburn MP) (435 feet) While Dr CEM Joad says the scientists have sealed the future of mankind Sir John Anderson says the prospects for civilisation depend on man’s sane control of atomic energy.
