Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Squalus Raised. DESCRIPTION: The ill-fated submarine is finally salvaged. SHOTLIST: The second attempt to raise the sunken submarine "Squalus" proves successful, as by means of forcing the water out of the submerged pontoons (attached to the hull) with compressed air, submarine is raised 80ft from the bottom of the sea, although she is still left 170ft from the surface. Up above, aboard the rescue ship "Falcon", the crew rush to fix valves and rig the pontoons, and the sub is slowly towed to shallow water. "Squalus" Raised - CARD 37466 The pontoons rise bringing with them the sunken submarine. The salvage boats tow the wreck back to port.
