Summary
80 mile an hour gales lash Britain’s coasts, putting acres of Eastern Counties under water. At Snettisham, Norfolk, Army ducks and transports rescue villagers from marooned houses. In Skegness, a blizzard follows up damage to sea front, and at Hunstanton £50,000 worth of damage is done to the promenade. In London, the Thames sweeps through the Embankment.
