- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Grand National, 1940. DESCRIPTION: The World’s greatest Steeplechase is as popular as ever. "Bogskar" comes in to win four lengths ahead of "Macmoffat". SHOTLIST: Various crowd shots, most of the men are wearing uniform. The two Jones Brothers are there both wearing greatcoats over the jockey dress. In the walk-round, these horses are prominent "Kilstar", "Royal Danielli", "Tuckmill" (watched by his owner Private Gordon Roll) and MacMoffat. The jockeys mount "MacMoffat" (10), "Downright" (26), Takvor Pacha (19) and Bachelor Prince (25). Shots of the race which is won by M Jones on "Bogskar" with "MacMoffat" second and Gold Arrow third. Lord Stalbridge leads in the winner.
