- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: BEF in Belgium. DESCRIPTION: In Belgium the British troops aid civilians as the war comes ever nearer. SHOTLIST: The British soldiers rest in the streets, help refugees to pack and offer them tea to keep their spirits up. Soldiers listen in the wireless and suddenly a bomber is seen overhead. The Bren Gun is manned. Shots of explosion at end of road, bomb. Various ruins, barricades have been erected and tanks rumble past bomb-craters. An old gentleman contemplates the wreck of his house. Tractors rush up with anti-tank guns in tow. Various troops on the move. British Troops and Refugees - CARD 39160 GV Soldiers sitting by sandbags. MS two soldiers help an old man. GV woman weeps leaning on a window sill. 2 shots soldiers help civilians with belongings. GV line of refugees with carts & bicycles on tree lined road (good shot). MS refugees passing camera. MS mass of refugees away from camera. 2 shots soldiers giving refugees tea. CU woman drinks from billie can. CU child drinks from billie can, pan to soldier.
