Summary
Coal Board headquarters. Lord Robens, NCB Chairman, offered his resignation. The tragedy of Aberfan, he said had never left his mind since that fateful day in October last year. Pathe News returned to the stricken village in the valley. Today it is still a place of sadness. The Scar left by the dreadful calamity will take long to heal. But though the finger of guilt has been pointed surely it can bring little consolation, for what man would knowingly have allowed such a disaster to happen?
