- A time for change. Britain advances one hour on Greenwich Mean Time; brighter evenings, the darker mornings, in line with Europe. But farmers are opposed to permanent ‘Summer’ time. They’ll fight it, they say. But every time piece in the nation including Big Ben - but excluding the Greenwich clock, has gained one hour.
