- Summary
- Parliament recalled. The Czech crisis had brought MPs back to the seat of Government during their Summer Recess. In Prague, the citizens knew the full meaning of occupation by force. They retaliated against overwhelming odds, but showed the world they desperately wanted their freedom. In London Czech sympathisers demonstrated at the Russian Embassy. As usual, there were many trouble-makers in the mob.
