Summary

Almost every great name in British sport attended a luncheon given by the Daily Express to name their, "Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year". There was do doubt about the decision, the newspaper’s readers voted for Lester Piggott and Marion Coakes. A special part of the event was the screening of Pathe Newsreels which recalled some of the great moments which had brought the equestrian stars to another moment of triumph.
