Summary
Strike bound, production barely ticking over; that was the scene at Ford’s Liverpool plant. It was a similar picture at Dagenham. Penal clauses in a new £5 million pay and productivity deal spurred the three main unions to call their members out. A temporary High Court injunction against them applied for by the management was granted and then overruled. The strike was still on; the production lines non-productive.
