Summary
Like islands of steel the rigs stand in the North Sea, bleeding off the riches that nature had sealed in far below them - gas, natural gas; nobody knows how much, but its been captured and tamed. At Bacton, in Norfolk, Prince Philip performed the inauguration ceremony at the Gas Council’s North Sea gas terminal, a place designed to handle up to 4,000 million cubic feet of natural gas a day! Eventually, it’ll mean cheaper gas for all. Gas, one might say, has that sweet smell of success about it.
