Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Libyan Clean Up. DESCRIPTION: The capture of the province of Cyrenaica has been completed efficiently. The victory in the eastern Libyan desert has been a combined operation by the Army, the RAF and the Navy. SHOTLIST: Various shots of erecting a camp in a sand storm. Water replenishment depot. Wrecked planes strew the ground and a dug-out is concealed under the debris. At El Adem an aerodrome was captured and many damaged planes. Artillery bombards Tobruk and huge fires are caused. In the dug-outs Italian possessions and Italian dead. Some of the ‘boys’ hold a flag and captured trophy. Prisoners were taken including Rear Admiral Massimilia. Shots of troops and lorries advancing into the setting sun. Symbolic - should be remembered.
