Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: U-Boat Commander Killed. DESCRIPTION: This film, captured from the Germans in the First World War, shows the fate of U-Boats then. SHOTLIST: Various shots of Admiral von Arnauld de la Periere, then a Lt Com in charge of U35. Shots of the sinking of the freighters "Parkgate", "Maplewood" and "Stromboli". One shot shows the torpedo being launched, its wake and the subsequent explosion. This is the only shot of its kind in existence and should be remembered. Story ends with library material of destroyers and depth charges.
