- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Light Blues Win 1933 Boat Race. DESCRIPTION: Cambridge by their 1933 triumph have established a record of 10 successive wins over the 4.25 mile course from Putney to Mortlake. The light blues time this year was 20 minutes 57 seconds, and they now have 44 victories to Oxford’s 40. British Movietone News presents a graphic record of the race with a commentary by Mr GO Nickalls, who was President in 1923 of the OUBC when Oxford last won. SHOTLIST: CU Nickalls speaking on the boat race. Elevated shot of the crowds on the towpath. Elevated shots of crowds on Hammersmith Bridge. Shot of favours being sold. Oxford take boat to the water and Cambridge likewise. Close shots of the strokes on each boat seating themselves. The race starts and the boats pull off. Various shots of the race under Hammersmith Bridge etc. Followed up by other craft. Cambridge alone. Elevated shot of the river with the crews and other craft. Pass winning post. Shots of the exhausted crews. Cambridge pull in and bring their craft ashore.
