Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pacific Battleground. DESCRIPTION: The treacherous attack on America and Britain by Japan has marked a day that will "live in infamy". Already firmly established in French Indo-China the Japanese have invaded Malaya and bombed Singapore. Japan bombed the American Naval Base at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii. President Roosevelt predicts that American seapower will win the day. SHOTLIST: Japanese emperor reviews troops. Shots of the army. Shots of the Jap fleet. Refugees in China. ARP exercises in Tokyo. Scenes in Indo China. Burma Road bombed. Shanghai bombed. Manoeuvres in Malaya and shots of Brooke Popham. Aerial scenes of Singapore and Manila. Library scenes of the US Fleet and the "North Carolina" at gunnery practice. Roosevelt speech is heard over last sequence. Scenes of Winant arriving at the embassy were taken but not used. Good shot Destroyer in rough sea. Library close-up of Roosevelt.
