Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: On to Tripolitania. DESCRIPTION: The Eighth Army is driving the Germans and Italians further and further west across the desert in Libya. After the capture of El Adem came a welcome halt and the first hot food the men had tasted in a long time. SHOTLIST: Armoured cars advance and there is a crashed Stuka (Ju87) and many blazing German tanks. One shot shows lines of destroyer Nazi tanks and will probably come in useful later. The troops stop and cook a hot meal while an Indian soldier keeps an eye out for planes, complete with Bren gun. General Willoughby Norrie directs operations by radio telephone. Troops clean out dug-outs with bayonets and there are German prisoners. Final shots show infantry advancing past dead Axis soldiers - very symbolic.
