Summary
Pathe synopsis: Behind Pa’s painstaking plans for patching up the parlour is a complex and colourful world. A world of many skills - skills like old world hand-block printing that Caxton created. We saw designs dating back well into the last century, and still captivating countless home decorators. We saw wallpaper that looks just like wood - and is even varnished. And we saw fascinating flock printing - making that embossed, velvety paper by sending the flock flying and catching it with glue. Finally, some paper like that hanging in Balmoral Castle - enough to make any parlour perfectly palatial.
