- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Soviet Arms in Training USSR in Scene No 2. DESCRIPTION: The Ski Troops of the Red Army have extra mobility with which to strike at the enemy. The plant at Magintogorsk is the third highest in output of steel in the Soviet Union. SHOTLIST: 1. Story opens with grave-stones of German soldiers. Military scenes - soldiers rush from dugouts and remove camouflage from guns - tanks go into action - officers give fire orders - one tank drops huge wooden NoSles to assist it over trench obstacles etc. Shells are taken from store direct to guns. There is also a scene of the cavalry trotting past. 2. Ski-Sportsmen Turn Ski-Troops. Views of ski column proceeding through valley in wooded country. Long and near shots. They advance past the camera, carrying their rifles. Very good scenic effects. 3. Arms For the Front (Russian) General view of factory and workers at benches making implements of war. 4. Russian Steel Works. Usual procedure of smelting and rolling steel. Metal bars being passed over rollers. Crane lowering steel bar into truck.
